This is a remote position.
This role is critical for ensuring that all products meet the required quality and safety standards across multiple global markets, with a focus on compliance verification and managing the external testing process.
Core Responsibilities
1. Multi-Market Product Compliance & Research
Conduct comprehensive research on product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for target markets (e.g.US, CA, EU, UK)
Identify and monitor changes in relevant regional and national regulations, standards (e.g., ASTM, EN), and directives that impact the company's product portfolio. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of applicable legislation, focusing on areas such as material safety, restricted substances (e.g., REACH, Prop 65), labeling, and product performance.
2. External Lab Compliance Verification & Standard Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party testing laboratories concerning compliance requirements and testing standards.
Verify and confirm the most current and applicable testing standards, methods, and protocols with external labs based on product type and target market.
3. Testing Process Management (Initiation, Follow-up, & Closure)
Initiate the testing process by preparing and submitting clear, accurate testing requests, including all necessary product specifications, compliance standards, and market requirements.
Manage the follow-up and monitoring of ongoing testing cycles, tracking timelines, and proactively addressing any delays or issues that arise with the testing labs.
Analyze and review test reports received from third-party labs, communicate results to the relevant internal teams (e.g., Legal, Product developer, Brand manager). Organize and archive all compliance documentation and test reports for future audits and reference.
4. Internal & External Communication and Collaboration
Support NPD (new product development) projects with PD teams to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards. Support to review and evaluate product spec,artwork,instruction manual etc. and communicate with suppliers.
Support QC to investigate and analyze supplier quality problems to identify root causes, provide solutions. Carry out corrective action plans and lead continuous improvement projects with manufacturers.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality assurance, Regulatory affairs, or Product compliance role, preferably within a supply chain or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with the specific compliance requirements and testing associated with these product categories (e.g., physical/mechanical testing, flammability, chemical testing like heavy metals/phthalates).
Demonstrated experience in the Daily consumer goods industry, Baby products, Juvenile, Toys category is a plus.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to liaise with internal stakeholders and external laboratories.
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented in documentation and data management.
Highly motivated and independent.
Able to work with minimal supervision and thrives in fast paced environments.
Amazon/e-commerce experience is a plus.
