Role Summary
We seek a Legal Counsel with 5-8 years of experience to support contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, and product advisory. The ideal candidate must have a strong grasp of payments regulations, financial services laws, and commercial contracts. Knowledge of GDPR and Indian Data Protection Law is a plus.
You will work closely with product, compliance, and business teams to ensure regulatory alignment, advise on payment solutions, and manage legal risks. The role requires a practical, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including payment agreements, SaaS contracts, and partnerships.
- Advise on financial services regulations across multiple jurisdictions and ensure compliance with licensing, AML, and data protection laws.
- Liaise with regulators and external counsel on licensing, compliance matters, and risk mitigation.
- Support product and business teams in developing payment solutions aligned with global regulatory requirements.
- Manage commercial disputes, contract-related claims, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide legal risk assessments and strategic advice on disputes, compliance, and corporate governance.
- LL.B or equivalent from a recognized institution; LL.M is a plus.
- 5-8 years PQE in fintech, banking, or payments law.
- Strong understanding of payments regulations, financial services laws, and payment products.
- Knowledge of PS Act, PSD2, and global payment frameworks is highly preferred.
- Experience in contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-growing company.
